Soroti city to procure two garbage trucks in the next financial year

By Stephen Ojacor Authorities in Soroti city are set to spend Shs500m in the next financial year 2020/2021 to procure two garbage trucks for collecting garbage that is piled in the city suburbs and ensure cleanness.

In an exclusive interview with Kyoga Veritas Radio, the interim City town clerk Soroti city, Moses Otimong revealed this saying that Soroti has battled with the issue of garbage with only one tractor collecting it in both the divisions in the city.

“Soroti city is set to procure two garbage collecting trucks one for Soroti city east and the other for Soroti city west, both trucks are to be procured at a tune of Shs.500m, which we have allocated to be catered for in the next financial budget,” Otimong said.

There has been an outcry from the public on how the city has been managing garbage collection, others decrying rotten and stinking garbage which litters most streets in the city.
