REPORT: Seven Murdered in Soroti City in Only 3 Weeks

Kedi Solomon for 91.5 KVR FM ~ At least seven people in Soroti city have so far been involved in a homicide in a period of three weeks since the month of February 2021.

Police at Soroti Central Police Station confirms the shocking figures attributing it to the tense political atmosphere and election aftermath with land disputes inclusive.

Soroti Central Police Station homicide detective, Joseph Isaac Odeke says that out of the seven bodies, five were of those murdered in the early days of February and two were killed a week ago.

On Thursday last week a man identified as Moses Otim, a lorry driver was found dead at the roadside at Opuyo, with bruises on his body while another unidentified man was also found starting to decompose in the bush in Asuret the same day.

 

Meanwhile, Paul Omer, the Soroti City Mayor says security in the city has been compromised, accusing some police of allegedly conniving with criminals to distort evidence.
