By Alfred Opio – The Police at Komolo police post, Pallisa Sub County in Pallisa district have today (Tuesday) recovered a total of seven stolen cattle out of eight which went missing in Akadot parish in early February.
The seven cattle which were recovered at a certain bush at Kachede village, Otamirio parish in Kibale Sub County belong to two men who hail from Akadot parish, Pallisa sub-county.
Peter Olupot, the OC at Komolo police post confirms this saying so far they have arrested one suspect identified as Joseph Omoding a resident of Otelepai village, in Kibale Sub County whose young boy was got grazing the lost cattle to aid with investigations.
“Today we have recovered seven animals out of the eight which were stolen early last month in Akadot and the owners have already identified them except one which is still missing, the thieves had dug a pit where this animal was kept and would only be brought out at specific hours for grazing and then returned to the pit…” he said.
He adds that the suspect is currently detained at Pallisa central police station and will be arraigned in the courts of law once investigations are complete.
